FAQ

We hope the FAQ below helps to answer any questions you may have. If you have a question for us that isn't answered below, please get in touch:

What is included when we purchase your script?

If you choose to licence one of our scripts for your show, we will send you a full digital copy of the script, which is editable. You'll also receive a character list with casting guidance, a list of suggested musical numbers and a junior ensemble plot, which provides a guide on roles for children and how you might like to use your ensemble.

How long are your pantomimes?

All our pantomimes are written to an approximate running time of 1 hour for Act 1 and 45 minutes for Act 2, not including your audience participation section at the end of the show. This includes musical numbers of around 2 and a half to 3 minutes per song.

How much do your scripts cost?

How big would our cast need to be?

All our pantomimes are written with a principal cast of 8 adults plus a junior ensemble. We recommend an ensemble of a minimum of 10 people, but our shows have been performed with smaller ensembles and still work well! We are always mindful to write in lots for the ensemble to do, such as solo spoken and sung lines for children and opportunities for childrens' musical numbers.

Do we need to credit you anywhere?

Yes please - please include "Script supplied by JK Jones Pantomimes" with a link to our website somewhere in the first three pages of your programme. If you'd like to tag us in any social media posts, we will share your posts in return.

Do we need a big stage or set to perform your shows?

No! Our scripts are written to be performed in any kind of space with any type of set. We know that amateur groups often use village halls or smaller theatres, so all our scripts are written with a simple set in mind. We're happy to chat about how other societies have staged particular scripts if you'd like some ideas.

Can we edit your scripts?

Yes. We know that during rehearsals for a pantomime, your cast often add in their own jokes, or you might want to make jokes or references to your local area, so we are happy for you to make changes to the script. All our scripts are supplied as Microsoft Word or Pages documents so that you can write in your own changes.

If you'd like any major changes (for example a scene added) we may be able to do this for you for a fee. Please get in touch!
